4 Behavior Change Tips For Lasting Weight Loss

If you’re like me, you probably just wish someone could re-wire your brain so you’re no longer emotionally connected to food and eating. I know how hard it is to be stuck in an “I don’t really give a s#*t” gutter and just keep cycling through your typical and unhealthy eating habits. I also think that eventually we reach a sort of rock bottom phase and decide that we can’t take it anymore and need to make a change. This blog post is for that person, and the handout you can download below will provide you with the first steps needed to climb out of that dark mental space and really claim who you want to be! It’s hard work, but you can decide that you want to do it and just do it 💪🏽.

What is the process to behavior change?

  1. Know that you can be who you want to be, starting today. You can actually decide to make changes and stick to them if you really want to. You don’t need to hang on to past behaviors. Start now, don’t wait for a Monday!

  2. Identifying your “why” is the number one motivation you need to be obsessed with- it will push you through the hard times. That’s what the handout is all about, below.

  3. Making a plan with yourself is key to know what you need to commit to. Yes, you have to write it down and you can’t just think it. You need to do something different than what you usually do.

  4. Consider learning from a few experts in the field of behavior change, sometimes you have to hear just the right thing to have your “light bulb” moment!

Easier said than done…

I know. But this is the hard work of getting something difficult accomplished! There’s no easy way to just GET the results for anything you want in your life, there’s actual hard work and commitment involved. I know you know, but really think about that. You can’t just know about how to do a thing, you have to apply the information you learn and it might just be outside of your comfort zone. That’s why I think my patients benefit from declaring what their “why” is, which is what this blog post is all about…
